A table of this variety is a great to place in areas where you have limited room or where people will be walking, such as hallways or main rooms. Because of their shape, they create the illusion that they extend from the wall, forming a natural smooth curve. This makes them attractive to the eye and can add a flow of vision and movement to a room.

It of course does not have actual fish, but you can choose aquatic plants you want included.
Large wicker picnic hampers can also work in this way too, although they do not provide a very uniform top surface. They do though look stylish, particularly when aged.
Moreover, each culture and nation has its own ideas of what looks beautiful, elegant, or atmospheric. Asian table settings have their own distinct style, as opposed to an African dining design, and both of these differ from western table ideas. Instead of one of these tables, you could use a rectangular or square table for the same purpose. This will give you more table space, but will also extend some sharp points into the room, and will reduce the amount of remaining space in the room.
